Activity Overview

This course is for licensed healthcare professionals who want to strengthen their knowledge and practical skills for treatment with dermal filler. This course is 3 parts: online, in-person didactic, and hands-on skills lab. This will take place at the NEMA Institute training center in Morristown, New Jersey. You must be licensed in the state of NJ or have a compact license to participate in the Hands-On Skills Lab.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for an audience of Physicians, Dentists, Nurses, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners who want to advance their journey in the Medical Aesthetics specialty and learn advanced techniques using dermal filler.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Understand lip anatomy: skin, muscle, fat, bone, and vessels

  • Identify the lip’s role in facial balance and aging

  • Recognize different lip types and presentations

  • Evaluate age-related changes to lips and surrounding structures

  • Assess patients for lip filler treatment

  • Select appropriate filler based on rheology and lip type

  • Demonstrate injection techniques for various lip cases

  • Review pre- and post-care protocols

  • Identify and manage lip filler complications

  • Know indications and contraindications for treatment

  • Perform nerve blocks for lip procedures

  • Apply best practices for natural, balanced results

Criteria for Success
 

To obtain a certificate of completion, you must complete the required online enduring prerequisite to proceed to the live events. Please proceed with the activity until you have successfully completed this program, completed the post-test and evaluation, and have received a digital copy of your certificate. You must participate in the entire activity to receive credit. A score of 70% or better on the post-test is required.
