This Advanced Dermal Filler Hands-On Course is for aesthetic providers who have a solid foundation of injection techniques using dermal filler and want to take their knowledge and skills to the next level. From clinical pearls to unique applications, this training experience will provide you with new insight into how to approach patients in your own practice. This course is designed to teach beyond a skillset – with a focus on the how and the why – which will train your brain to approach each patient from an artful and anatomical perspective. Participating in this training will boost your anatomical knowledge while training on advanced medical indications and techniques for injecting dermal filler, affording you the opportunity to perfect your precision when using dermal filler.

Activity Overview
 

This course is for licensed healthcare professionals who want to strengthen their knowledge and practical skills for treatment with dermal filler. This course is 3 parts: online, in-person didactic, and hands-on skills lab. This will take place at the NEMA Institute training center in Princeton, New Jersey. You must complete all three to obtain your CEs. You must be licensed in the state of NJ to participate in the Hands-On Skills Lab.
 

Target Audience
 

This activity is designed for an audience of Physicians, Dentists, Nurses, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners who want to advance their journey in the Medical Aesthetics specialty and learn advanced techniques using dermal filler.

Learning Objectives
 

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
 

• Identify the different layers and facial muscles in facial anatomy, how the physiology and function of the anatomical structures indicate diagnosis and treatment with dermal filler

• Review advanced pathophysiology of anatomical structure and its current application based on peer-reviewed, evidence-based research to indications which advanced dermal filler treatment would benefit patients

• Identify key components, observations, and questions that are part of a thorough medical history for a patient who will receive advanced dermal filler injections

• Educate the patient on pre- and post-procedures and expectations when receiving dermal filler treatment

• Identify appropriate medical documentation for dermal filler procedures

• Discuss complications and management for dermal filler injections

• Discuss storage, supplies, rheology, and dosage for dermal filler injections

• Explain and demonstrate safe injection technique of dermal fillers

Criteria for Success
 

To obtain a certificate of completion, you must complete the required online enduring prerequisite to proceed to the live events. Please proceed with the activity until you have successfully completed this program, completed the post-test and evaluation, and have received a digital copy of your certificate. You must participate in the entire activity to receive credit. A score of 70% or better on the post-test is required.
